Habit Statistics Guide

LifeOS Pro reads standard Markdown check-ins from daily notes and summarizes completions, streaks, and trends. The feature is enabled by default, while built-in example templates keep it disabled and contain no preset habits. Enable and configure it only when it supports your own goals.

1. Enable It and Set the Heading

Open LifeOS Pro Settings → Periodic Notes:

  1. Turn on Habit Statistics.
  2. Set Habit Header to Habit, or use your own heading.
  3. Confirm that the daily-note folder and template path are correct.

Turning Habit Statistics off hides both the header field and the Home entry. Existing daily-note content remains untouched.

2. Configure the Daily Template

Open the daily template configured for the current vault and add this section:

## Habit

- [ ] Morning stretch
- [ ] Read for 20 minutes
- Water
  - [ ] +1
  - [ ] +1
  - [ ] +1
  - [ ] +1

Regular checkboxes are counted by day. An item with multiple +1 children is counted by completion. The level-two heading in the template must match the Habit Header setting.

This format uses only Markdown. It does not require Obsidian Tasks, Dataview, or another plugin, so the same daily template also works in Aino Desktop.

3. Review the Results

After checking off habits in daily notes, open LifeOS Home → Habit Statistics to review completion rates, totals, and streaks across different time ranges.

Start with two to four behaviors that matter. A long checklist adds friction to every daily note and makes the statistics less focused.

Troubleshooting

Check that the feature is enabled, the heading matches, the daily note is inside the periodic-notes folder, the items use standard Markdown checkboxes, and the note has been saved.
